Referrals & Rebates

  • Full fee paying clients.  A referral is not required for clients paying out of pocket. This generally applies to clients engaged in a course of stand alone neurofeedback.
  • Mental Health Treatment Plan.  Clients referred for psychological therapy under a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan or by a psychiatrist may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $141.85 for up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year. An additional rebate for up to 10 group sessions per calendar year is also available, with the rebate amount dependent on the appointment length. Rebate amounts are higher for clients who have reached the annual Medicare Safety Net Threshold.
  • DVA referrals. The Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) may fund appointment costs for psychological therapy for eligible white or gold card holders with a GP referral.
  • Private Health Insurance.  Rebates are available from some private health insurance companies, depending on the policy, and the level of cover (please check with your insurance company for more information).
